About Robert Burge
Trusted Advisor. Art Market Expert. Collector’s Advocate.
For 40 years, Robert Burge has been a leading expert and dealer in the field of English and Continental antique furniture and accessories, as well as a recognized authority in the fine art photography market.
He began his career in the Photography Department at the Museum of Modern Art, later serving as Assistant Director of Pace/MacGill Gallery on East 57th Street.
From 1991 to 2014, Robert was President of Yale Burge Antiques, Inc., where he bought and sold European furniture to designers, architects, and collectors.
Over the years, Robert has forged excellent working relationships with the top New York and regional auction houses, and has advised major interior design firms, private collectors, and platforms such as RubyLux.com.
Since 2015, Robert has focused on deaccessioning - helping clients navigate the complexities of art and antique sales during times of transition, particularly the “three D’s”: downsizing, divorce, and death.
